lake powell trip 2010 with sky high energy

i just returned from a wonderful week vacation from lake powell. it was probably the best lake powell trip i have ever been on for these reasons..

*i almost cleared the wake on the wakeboard the first time ever
*we stayed in a 5 star house boat. it was super nice, had a hot tub on top, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a slide, a huge kitchen and a flat screen tv for the boys to watch their football.
*i made a lot of new friends
*tube wars were the best thing everrr
*had dance parties with rachel and macy on the top of the houseboat errrday
*we had unlimited amounts of snacks
*we made the most delicious dinners every night
*i learned how to play poker, could have won 260 dollars.. but didnt
*the weather was perfect, not too hot ever!
*didn't have a care in the world for a week
*played the candy bar game and won all sorts of yummy candy
*got to relax in the sun every day all day
*oh and did i mention i only had to pay 10 dollars for gas? and that was it!!

this trip was amazing i was always on the boat watching everyone and their wakeboarding skills or laying out on the top of the houseboat! and if we were sick of the sun we would play cards together as a huge group and it was great. i was laughing the whole time and it was so drama free and i loved every second of it. the only thing that i was a little sad about was there was a full moon, so the stars weren't as incredible as they should be in lake powell.. but it was also cool to have the full moon! soo sad that its over but i am so glad i got the opportunity to go!

labor day 2010

to celebrate the day of no work or school, my mom, step dad, sister and i decided to be a little spontaneous and drive down the lake powell for the weekend. (it took a lot of convincing on my part to my step dad) we had not been for 5 years as a family and i was thinking it was about that time we needed to make a trip down there. so we did :) and once we got down there my step dad was just soo mad we hadn't been down more. lake powell is amazing. we started off by getting on the tube and tubing around the lake. we found a couple cliffs to jump off of and then we found a little island to make our home for the weekend. as soon as we set up camp, we see a man kayaking over to our island and he had been there for like 3 weeks by himself on his houseboat. kayla and i thought it was a little creepy but he seemed like a nice guy. we went to sleep that night just in awe at how beautiful the night sky is. no where else in the world have i seen the stars as gorgeous as they are in lake powell. we woke up early to go wake board and ski while the water was still very calm. after that we went and rented a new tube, for our 16 year old round one died the night before (very happy about it) and we spent a few hours getting whipped around on that. we boated around and found more cliffs to jump off of and went to the marina to get some ice cream. then it started to get very very windy and we headed back to camp only to find all of our stuff wrapped tightly in a rope! tom saw our stuff blowing around so he came and tied it all up for us so it wouldn't blow away. he ended up letting kayla and i use his kayaks to row around because we didn't really have much more to do with the wind being as horrible as it was. he then invited us over for dinner. that night when we were going to sleep, the wind would not let us. i couldn't do anything to escape the windy night so i pretty much stayed up the whole night star gazing. we left early the next morning because it was still windy and we wanted to miss the rush of getting off the lake. it was a fabulous trip and i am so very excited to go back in a couple of weeks with rachel and her friends!

UTES!

Tonight there was a utah football game against pittsburg. i was veryy nervous for it since pitt is ranked higher then the utes and they scored the first touchdown so i was scared! but not long after pitt scored, utes got 2 touchdowns so we were 14 to 7 for a while. Pitt scored a bunch of field goals and got it to 13, 17 and then we scored an awesome touchdown!! so it was 24 to 13. well pitt got right back and scored a touch down and then instead of kicking for the extra point, they went for 2. and made it.. so all they needed was a field goal to tie the game and put us into over time. well they did. and i was pulling my hair out i was so nervous!! luckily, utah had defense first and intercepted the ball and so all we needed was a field goal to win the game! and we did :) it was crazy. sitting in the fourth row is awesome and i love utah football games alot! cant wait for the rest of the season

the start of junior year

SO i started school on tuesday this last week. its going to be a rough semester.. i was enrolled for 17 credits but after my first day i realized that i really need to focus extra hard on my math 4020 class and so i dropped a class and now i have 14 credits. also, i am taking marathon training at 7:00 in the morning. totally not a morning person but oh well its going to be good for me and i need to train for my half marathon which i will be running in october somehow. after the first day of that my calves were SOOO sore!! we ran like 5 miles that day, and we timed our miles and i beat 3 of the 5 guys in my class! i was so proud :)
well on top of school i just moved out.. my friend alex robbins has a house with a few extra bedrooms so calli, kd, and i packed up our bags and moved in today! i am way excited. calli and i have the basement and share a bathroom, alex and kd are up stairs and each have their own bathrooms. i am alot closer to the U and i get to experience living on my own, not in a dorm room ha.
as of right now i am without a bed but tomorrow my mom and i are going to ikea to solve that problem! well i am going to go buy some more hangers!

i love the weekend.

weekends are so much better then weekdays. i love having options of places to go and people to see. and this weekend i didnt work so it was extra better then the weekdays. today i woke up and went to the gym with shan, and then i went and floated the provo river with some of my friends from alpha chi and the U. that was really fun, but it was freezing! i fell out of my tube and it was such a struggle to get back in. after we got back i took a shower and got ready for theron's party! we went over there and it was sooo funny and fun. i always have a good time when i am hanging out with theron and his friends! on thursday we went out to eat with all of them, and i pretended i was their mom and sydney pretended she was the dad and it was the most outrageous dinner ever. i loved every minute of it. well tomorrow i have a homecoming that will probably kill me but if not i will write about it in my next blog! night!!

awful day.

today was not in the cards for me. i went to bed WAYYY later then i should have and woke up with exactly 20 minutes to get to work. thats usually how long it takes me to get there so i grabbed some clothes and a toothbrush and drove there as quickly as possible and made it there by 9:02 and luckily no customers waiting for me at the door. well i felt like i was moving rather slow today, i didnt feel good from being so sleepy and i had cramps. i kept dropping all sorts of cartridges on the ground and spilling ink everywhere and using the wrong ink in cartridges and dealing with extra annoying customers. when 4:00 FINALLY rolled around i was sure i was going to go home and take a nap.. but then i decided that the mall sounded much more appealing. well i guess you could say i am a sucker for the people in the kiosks that wont leave you alone if you give them the slightest bit of interest in their product. all of which are very over priced but i told them i was too poor to buy it so all 3 kiosks i visited knocked the price down over 50%. it was great! i bought a nail buffer thing, which is originally 59 dollars, gave it to me for 24 and threw in a 59 dollar bottle of sea salt just because he liked me :). i bought some make up, she gave me 30 dollars off because i was a student and gave me 2 free brushes and 50 dollars off of some foundation :) and i bought a new straightener since my old one recently broke which was originally 260 and i bought it for 75. i was pleased with all my purchases until i was driving home from the mall and some stupid cop decided to pull me over! ugh i had no clue what i did wrong and i immediately started bawling. he told me i didnt turn into the inside lane and my blinker wasn't on but i totally had my blinker on and i turned into the inside lane, i was just behind an SUV when i turned and as soon as i had made the left turn, i changed lanes into the outside lane for my destination was on the right. i was soooo pissed when he told me and i tried to explain but he was a dick so he wouldnt listen. then of course i couldnt find my insurance card so i got cited for no proof of insurance and for the stupid left turn. i came home, crying the whole way home, and tried all my new make up and straightener and now i feel somewhat better. but still... today sucked. i hate wednesdays always!

summer flu..

as much as i absolutely love summer. i'm bored! it might have something do to with the fact that i am all alone in my huge house and that all i do is work, but i am excited for school to start. (even though i'm positive the first day i go back i will be counting down the days til summer starts once again) i need some sort of hobby, other then fb and sims 3 to keep me entertained during these last few weeks of summer.

i miss my sister. i wish she was back from girls camp so we could do some ridiculous things that somehow we find completely amusing. maybe if she was home i wouldn't be so bored.

i could always go to the gym, or go running to prepare for that half marathon thats coming up in october.. but that takes way too much work.

well i guess i will go try and find something to do... i'm tired after being sick all night because i thought there was a monster in my house.
